  • How Many Kevo Smart Locks Can Connect To One Kevo Plus?
    One (1) Kevo Plus can connect with a maximum ten(10) Kevo smart locks. Only one (1) Kevo account can be associated per Kevo Plus.
  • Is Kevo Contemporary Kevo Plus Compatible?
    Yes, Kevo Contemporary works with the Kevo Plus gateway for remote access from anywhere.
  • How Do I Properly Install A Kevo Plus To Ensure That I Have Connection Between The Lock And Hub?
    1. Connect the Kevo Plus hub to your router using an Ethernet cable
    2. Plug the power adapter to a power outlet
    3. Using the Kevo App, follow the instructions under “Pair a Device” to enable the Kevo Plus hub
    4. Confirm connection between Kevo Plus hub and lock by using the Kevo App, selecting the “globe” icon as indicated by the red arrow, and successfully performing locking/unlocking of the door.

  • I lost my USB power adapter. How can I get a new usb power adapter for the Kevo Plus Gateway?
    Unfortunately, we do not carry any power adapter separately.  However, you can purchase a universal adapter.  However, you need to make sure that the power specifications printed on the back of Kevo Bluetooth enabled Gateway device matches with the universal adapter that you intend to use for replacement.
  • I Lost My USB Power Cable. How Can I Get A New Usb Cable For The Kevo Plus Gateway?

  • My Gateway Does Not Power Up?
    Ensure that the USB power adapter light is on. Verify that all cable connections are correctly connected and power is supplied.
  • Where Should I Locate The Kevo Plus Gateway Within My Home?

    For optimal performance, please follow these simple guidelines:

    • Position your HUB in a centralized location that minimizes the distance between the Kevo Plus Gateway and your Kevo smartlock.
    • Stone, tile, mirrors, and large metal surfaces tend to interfere with wireless communication. Try to avoid placing your Kevo Plus Gateway in locations that place these surfaces between the Gateway and your Kevo smart lock.
    • If possible, locate your Kevo Plus Gateway in an open space at least 3 feet above the floor. Avoid cabinets when possible.
    • Range is very environmentally dependent but a typical residential installation may experience range up to 100 feet.
  • Will This Work With Any Router?
    The Kevo Plus Gateway is compatible with most standard residential and SOHO routers. In order to connect the Kevo Plus Gateway, your router needs an available Ethernet port.
  • How Does My Kevo Plus Gateway Communicate To My Mobile Device?
    When you first connect the Kevo Plus Gateway to your Internet router your mobile device will make a direct connection to the Kevo Plus Gateway. After this initial connection, all communication between your mobile device and the Kevo Plus Gateway pass through our cloud services to maintain a connection wherever you are.
  • How Does The Kevo Plus Gateway Communicate With The Internet?
    The Kevo Plus Gateway uses an Ethernet connection to connect to your home wireless router and then uses your high speed internet service to communicate with our cloud.
  • Does Kevo Plus Use A Cloud?
    Kevo Plus runs in our own secure cloud so you can access your Kevo smart lock from anywhere.
  • How Can I Ensure My Products Are Secure And Up To Date?
    We are constantly testing and auditing the security of our platform. We make frequent updates to the mobile app and the Kevo Gateway ensure you have the latest security. We’ll alert you in the mobile app when an update is needed. For critical updates, we may push the update automatically so you don’t have to worry about it.
  • What Measures Do You Take To Keep Kevo Plus Secure?
    Kevo Plus is extremely secure, both digitally and mechanically. Kevo Plus uses multiple levels of encryption to increase digital security, and it is continually reviewed by industry-leading independent digital security experts.
  • What Happens If My Power Goes Out?
    The Kevo Plus Gateway requires power and Internet service. If you lose connection to the Internet or power, you will still be able to control your Kevo lock locally via your phone and Bluetooth but you will not be able to get remote access via Kevo Plus. Once the Internet connection or power is restored, your Kevo Plus Gateway will reconnect automatically.
  • How Do I Set Up Kevo Plus?

    1. Connect and fully tighten the antenna to the back of the gateway. Pivot the antenna so that it points straight up.
    2. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the gateway. Plug the other end into your internet router.
    3. Insert the plug of the power cable into the gateway. Connect the power adapter to a power outlet.
    4. Make sure the lights on the gateway are functioning. See the Light Ring Colors chart on page 2. Follow the instructions inside the Kevo app to configure your gateway.
    5. Once configured, you may control the gateway with the Kevo app or mykevo.com
  • How Does Kevo Plus Work When I Am Inside The Home?
    It works the same way.
  • What Is The Range Of The Kevo Plus Gateway?
    Depending on your home’s configuration, Kevo Plus can work up to 100 feet from your Kevo.
  • Why Is My Light Blinking On My Kevo Plus Gateway?

    The Kevo Plus Gateway blinks different colors to indicate various operations. Refer to table below for more information.

  • Do I Need To Make Any Firewall Adjustments For Kevo Plus?

    Kevo Plus should work by default through most residential firewalls. Depending on your network’s firewall and security policy, however, you may be required to open the following ports:

    TCP 8100
    SSL443
    UDP 13252
    Local Debug 499
    Local Debug 11000

  • Can I Use A Longer Ethernet Cable?
    Yes, you are only limited by the capabilities of Ethernet.
  • How Does Kevo Plus Work When I Am Away From Home?
    Remote access is automatically enabled when you set up the Kevo Plus Gateway, as long as the network you are using has an Internet connection.  With remote access enabled, you can control your Kevo from anywhere your iOS or Android device has an Internet connection.  This includes other Wi-Fi networks or your mobile connection.  When the Kevo App is launched outside your home, the App contacts the Kevo cloud, where it redirects the phone's request to the appropriate Kevo lock, and then you can see and control your Kevo lock.
  • Why Is Bluetooth Faster?
    While the phone is in direct Bluetooth range of the lock, it may appear that the app performs lock/unlock faster than when you are out of direct Bluetooth range. This is due to the multiple hops required to communicate between the phone, Kevo servers, Kevo Plus Gateway, and your Kevo lock, while out of direct Bluetooth range.
  • What Does The Gateway Symbol Stand For?
    Your Kevo Plus service has been successfully established.
  • What Does The Bluetooth Symbol Stand For?
    When the app is using a direct connection between your mobile device and your Kevo lock, the Bluetooth symbol will appear. When the Kevo Plus service has successfully established a connection between the Kevo Plus Gateway and your Kevo lock, the Kevo Plus gateway symbol will appear.
  • What Does 'Authenticating' Mean?
    When the Kevo app connects to the Kevo lock, it uses multiple levels of encryption to securely connect to your lock.
  • What Does ‘Searching’ Mean?
    This means that the Kevo app is looking to see if your lock is in range to connect.
