  • Why Isn’t My Obsidian Locking?

    There are three possibilities:

    1. Obsidian will not lock if your batteries are too low so as to prevent accidentally locking you out. For information on how to change your batteries, please see the installation guide.
    2. Obsidian may not be locking if the bolt hole on the door frame is not deep enough. Make sure the bolt hole on the door frame is at least 1” deep.
    3. Obsidian may not be locking due to a misalignment with the door, door frame, and/or strike. For more information on how to address misalignment, please see the installation guide.

  • What Happens If I Forget My User Code?

The Obsidian deadbolt will give you three attempts before locking-out the screen for 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, you can make additional attempts. Each three consecutive failed attempts will result in the screen locking out for 60 seconds.

If you forgot your user code, there are two options:

    1. Add new user codes. (For detailed instructions on how to add new user codes please see the installation guide).
    2. Reset Obsidian to factory settings to clear existing user codes and add new ones. For detailed instructions on how to reset Obsidian to factory settings, please see installation guide.
  • If I’ve Disabled The Touchscreen On My Obsidian With Home Connect, Will The Touchscreen Work When I Use A 9V Battery To Power The Lock?
No, the touchscreen on your Obsidian with Home Connect will remain unresponsive even with a 9V battery if the Disable Touchscreen setting is turned on. Check with your home automation system for specific instructions on whether the Disable Touchscreen feature is supported.
