Why does the Weiser app require location sharing?

 

The Weiser app requires Precise Location information provided by your phone during the following two operations:

• Activating a new lock: This is to obtain the time zone information during lock activation. Precise location sharing can be disabled by the user once lock has been added.


• Enabling Auto-Unlock by Distance (Geofence): Precise Location sharing is required for continuous use of this feature.

Important: Any location data used stays on your phone and is not shared or transferred to our backend systems.

* Android App version 2.3 was mandating Precise Location sharing after login. This issue has been resolved in Version 2.3.1.
